Master of Health program at Kader Bangsa University Palembang’s Faculty of Graduate Studies was established on June 16, 2006, and obtain operating licenses from the Director General of Higher Education and Culture through Decree No. 1972/D/T/2006 under the name ‘Master of Health’. In 2011, the Master of Public Health program at Kader Bangsa University Palembang has earned accreditation status of BAN-PT with the decree number No. 021/BAN-PT/Ak-VIII/S2/I/2011.

MISSION

1. Produce graduates who are independent and have the analytical ability to solve various health problems.
2. Produce research product and scientific papers that are innovative for the development of science and welfare.
3. Produce services to enhance the potential for community health development.
4. Develop networks with various stakeholders nationwide.

OBJECTIVES

Produce master graduates who could be an innovator and motivator in the development of activities of Public Health Sciences, and also at the same time capable of conducting Public Health Efforts (SMEs) and Individual Health Efforts (UKP) to support the improvement of public health and the MDGs. Produce master level analysts personnel that understand the theory and methodology in the development of Public Health Sciences as an interdisciplinary approach so that they can support the development of a competitive and sustainable SMEs. Produce graduates who are able to analyze and interpret the government’s macro policies and micro policy organization of public health perpetrators in an order of a health system.

COURSE LENGTH

Lectures are taken within 4 (four) semesters, with three semesters of courses and one semester for research and thesis

ACADEMIC TITLE OF GRADUATES

Graduates of the Master of Health at Kader Bangsa University Palembang postgraduate program holds the title of M.Kes (Magister of Health)

CONCENTRATION

The study program of Public Health in Kader Bangsa University Graduate Palembang Postgraduate Program currently has 21 concentrations, includes:

1. Health Policy Administration (AKK)
2. Study of Hospital Administration (KARS)
3. Labor Health and Safety (K3)
4. Reproductive Health (Kespro)
5. Applied Epidemiology (Epid)
6. Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences (PKIP)

In 2015, concentrations of Environmental Health in custody of Sumengen Sutomo, SKM, MPH, Dr.Ph. will be opened. Concentration is only opened if the number of applicants of at least 15 students is fulfilled. GRADUATE COMPETENCIES

Graduate Competencies of Master of Public Health in general is as follows: have knowledge and skills in formulating strategies and health policy. Furthermore, each specialization has additional distinctive competence in accordance to each specialization.

AKK Specialization:

1. Have the ability to analyze and synthesize public health issues and efforts to resolve the issue according to the specifications of each specialization
2. Have the knowledge and skills in developing, managing and evaluating public health programs
3. Have the knowledge and skills in preparing a research proposal, the management of health and conduct it well

PKIP Specialization:

1. Have the ability to analyze and synthesize behavioral aspects of public health problems and efforts to resolve the issue
2. Have knowledge and skills in developing, managing and evaluating public health promotion programs effectively
3. Have the knowledge and skills in preparing health behavioral research proposals and conduct it well

EPIDEMIOLOGY Specialization:

1. Have the ability to analyze and synthesize public health problems and efforts to resolve the issue
2. Have knowledge and skills in planning, managing and evaluating the epidemiological surveillance, outbreak investigation, KLB
3. Have the knowledge and skills in preparing health research proposals and conduct it well

KESPRO Specialization:

1. Have the ability to analyze and synthesize public health problems and efforts to resolve the issue
2. Have knowledge and skills in developing, managing and evaluating reproductive health programs effectively
3. Have the knowledge and skills in preparing reproductive health research proposals and conduct it well
